"Robots" will never have such freedom of decision, even with a virus.
Its more probable to be hunted down by a terrorist or a belligerant country bomber.
johnnyharpe (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Or how about these robots running around, or flying around, and hunting us down? You don't see where this is going?

Ok, so what happens when the government uses MRI to read your thoughts in real time, 24/7? Or if everybody on Earth has the ability to make nanobots which can reproduce exponentially and then kill everyone? Eventually we will have to limit technology.

Trying to stop the science evolution, for me, is a big mistake.
As i said, we just cant do it because of the fear or such things, i know that science have not been used correctly by humans (nuclear power, industry of war...) but it just cant be stopped, we should hope the governments to change their way of doing politics, because if not, with or without high technology, the people will rise, peacefully or violently.
Its sad, but theres many examples in human history.

With nanotechnology, mass spectroscopy, imaging, biological engineering, compiling info on everyone, nuclear physics, and a lot of other advances, we will have to draw a line with technology somewhere. The only question is where. If we don't, eventually someone will kill us all. |
