Did you see the same speech that I saw? Perhaps it's too much movement for video, but I think it would work well in front of an audience.

This was quite good. Points for improvement: 1) please do less unnecessary and distracting movements; and 2) please use greater vocal variety (volume, pitch and pace) as I felt I was being yelled at most of the time.

Americans would probably love it. Europeans would say he's getting on their nerves.

The entire purpose of the speech is to convey that he was living his life too seriously. The reason he got laughs when he said, "that wasn't funny" wasn't because he 'went back to his normal voic', it was because it was an unexpected switch from animated liveliness to serious monotony.
It's okay to lighten up. You don't have to critique everything to pieces. If the speech wasn't for you that's absolutely fine...but, maybe you should try appreciating it for what it is, not what it isn't.

Very Animated for my taste...

Excellent presentation. Surely it was not a conventional approach to speaking, but who cares really. Those of you who criticized him for that, *YOU* have a serious problem. His speech was motivating and very effective. Really, what else matters?
