It's not about comparing songs. It's about the tallent of Billy. To that there is no comparing.

The ironir thing with billy is that he only picked the songs that he thought would be flops to do, they turned out to be his greatest success's

its just that they are comparing it to scenes from an italian restaurant, movin' out and piano man, which are some of the best songs ever
this is a great song but not on the same level as those

So weird, I have such a similar memory of this song and similar songs from my childhood..

I don't get the hate for this one... It's so great.

It's not worse, it's just different. This is Billy Joel on antidepressants (so to speak) - less thought and soul, less reflection, but more pure, impetuous happiness.

this song is pretty bad compared to piano man or baby grand or new york state of mind tbh

Billy Joel has written and performed some of the best music in America for over thirty years, and this song is as good as any of them. Moving, in every sense of the word. the lyric, the amazing gospel feel, the vocal- Lord have mercy, this is a great, great song. Those of you too immature to get it can watch American Idle; hey, there's a style of music for everyone. Is this a great country, or what? Without American music, in all its various glories, the world would be a poorer place. |
