Depends, really. Rapping, I prefer Linux's style and function, I hate Microsoft's buisness tactics.

Microsoft's servers need to be rebooted every 59 days on avarage, A Linux server just keeps going, and never stops unless it's under a concentrated attack, or there is work to be done on the server. :) Microsoft also attempted recently to say Linux was more expensive to run then Windows server. They were critisized becuase the tests they ran were biased

When I can run most apps I enjoy without a shell or something then I'll think about it.
AmberwiseTheWise (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
lets do a checklist of linux devices; Mobile phones? Check. MP3 players? (Not iPod) Check Entertainment systems (car, airplace, etc) check. Super-computers? Check (89% do use Linux) Servers? Check (unsure of exact number but Linux has the most servers) Oh, lets not forget Acer (or Asus) new laptops, which comes with an embedded Linux version called Splashtop. and people are STILL buying Windows under the assumption that paying means better quailty...

Lunix is an OS, not a platform...
eierer (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
No it isn't. Since the Linux kernel is licensed under the GPL any linking to closed source software would be impossible to distribute.
eierer (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
ehm, a Mac is a PC.
