I'm in PSYC 2000, and we're discussing this experiment. It's heartbreaking to see these kids' reaction to their surroundings just because they watch a film of models doing something. What I'd like to know is: would they have beat the bobo doll if HADN'T seen the film?

The experiment shows that children are likely to bet the hell out of a plastic doll when they see it being abused in a movie. The experiment does not show that children are likely to beat the hell out of other children. Humans think and put their actions into context. They beat the hell out of the doll because they know they can without any repurcussions. They would not do it on other humans because there would be way to many negative consequences; for them and the other humans.

If people looked like that and popped back up every time you hit them, I'd abuse people all the time. LOL.

It shows that kids will imitate what they see or watch on T.v. He showed this video to a buch of kindergardners and then they played in a play room where they found a bobo doll and they did whatever they watched on the video that bandura had.I think he was just trying to say that the things that kids see around them the type of music they listen to weather it is good or bad or play violent video games or watch movies that the kids might do the same things.

How do I save this video to put it into a powerpoint presentation? I'm giving a lecture tomorrow and I need this video in my presentation. Help please!

oh man. i'm writing this research paper on how "violent" music DOES NOT cause violent bahvior but this experiment is really hard to counter. do you think the age of the kids matter? or that the clown's function is to be knocked down repeatedly? any help would be greatly appreciated!

the aim of the experiment isnt to prove anger, its to show how conditioning works, that when children who have less social conditioning are shown a certain behaviour they beleive that it is what should happen, there is other parts to this experiment were adults are neutral to the doll and also show a happy emotions to it.
