Yes, many countries used ships to make gold off of transportation of the slaves to the colonies however the real profits in the trafficking of slaves were made by Jews who set up base in the Northern American colonies to actually sell the slaves. The Jews captured humans or bartered with African warlords for the slaves and in turn farmed out the transportation of the humans to countries like Norway and England who transported the 'cargo'.

Black slavery was the worst thing to ever happen to the white working class in America. Cheap, free labor put hundreds of thousands of rural whites into poverty. Most Southerners at the outbreak of the civil war did not even own shoes much less slaves.
