(still fuming) I know, and you'd think the damn HISTORY TEACHER woud have KNOWN THAT. But no, she gives us a trick question essay, then fails everybody. She sounds like the best teacher ever to spend the year with, doesn't she?

school house rock is a fun thing to watch when theres nothing else to do, but isnt a solid piece to write on.

i understand that it's meant to be simple, my issue with it is that my 10th grade history teacher showed her class (with me in it!) the american history video, told us to write an essay on what we'd learned, then failed pretty much everybody on the essay because we'd gotten all the info wrong. -fumes- personally, i think that the video should have at least been ACCURATE if she was gonna do that. >:-[

These were designed in the 70s as a commercial between Sat morn. cartoons. Mostly to give some simple idea of history,grammar,math,etc. The key here being for kids and simple. It was never meant to be a detailed case study in American history.
The little snippets were effective. I still remember the preamble 30 yrs later from this. I have also learned a few more details since then. Most people do. |
