3 years? Wow. My wife and I spent a week there on our honeymoon almost a year ago. We spent a week in Rome prior to that.
I can say with all honesty that I enjoyed Florence immensely. We talk almost every other week about going back.

I love Florence! I was there for 3 days and would love to go back. I felt 3 days was way too short a time to spend in Florence, especially if you want to see works of art. I do recommend just walking around the city for a day and exploring because it feels like a medieval city more than a modern one. Be careful of all the 'Rolex' dealers. The cheap watches will break before you even get back to your bus.
