They lost everything because their condo was built on fill dirt which shakes like jello in an earthquake. The section of the property I was living on was more solid. If you have a say in where you live, make sure your house is built on solid bedrock, not fill-in.

The city was lucky in 1994. It was MLK Day so nobody was on the road when it happened.

L.A. is the most common place on earth where you'll find earthquake cos thats where the san andreas fault line is. some of them are just small but this one was incredible
