I also couldn't help but notice "comfortably numb" playing in the background. It sounds perhaps there is still an avoidance of dealing with issues - not "owning" your pain. (Been there, done that) Again, you do what you have to in order to take care of yourself, but do consider that pills do not solve (or resolve) any emotional probs from the past. My family dysfunction continues into the present - but I never saw it when I was medicated.

I've been on antidepressants and they made me feel that I didn't care and then didn't care that I didn't care. My family is VERY dysfunctional. There is a problem in thinking that all negative feelings are bad when they are normal. You do what you have to to take care of yourself, but consider sometimes we just need to face reality with all its pain-that's what counseling is for; it's not easy, but pills really doesn't solve anything. I see much more clearly now w/o drugs.

At one point I could not leave my home because of the intense fears that I had. I would have thoughts that I was possessed by demons and would become so depressed and unable to think that I could do something as simple as read a newspaper or take showers. Today I'm going to college for microbiology and working and I have a wonderful family and career. The difference is night and day and the side effects are minimal to none.

It also runs in my family and with medication my life is absolutely wonderful. I'm very grateful for these medications! I would never have the life I have now. (cont.)

I find it hard to believe that all of that has nothing to do with my major depressive disorder with psychotic tendencies. So I do believe that in some cases it can be considered heridetery. Science is just a guessing game, until a fact can be proven. I do know one thing. When I'm on the right type and dose of medication, I am free to live the best life I can.

I don't have to look it up. I only have to look within my family to see that depression is familial. My mom, both sisters, and myself suffer from depression of one form or another. Certain members of my mothers family suffer from it. My dad (may he rest in peace) suffered from a severe nervous break down and my granny had schizophrenia. (cont.)

What influence dose all threes terrible immoral things like torture and killing have on our kids! What is the connection between murder hallucinations, suicide and antidepressants etc. They diagnoses rape victims with being depressed. They will say their is no such thing as outside influence and it's al "genetic" etc Gee I wonder why? LOOK IT UP!

Search on the net. WHY do they lie and say it's genetics when they have found no gene and there is ZERO objective tests like blood test to prove a chemical balance yet they call this stuff as fact. Ask AHY is "mental illness' skyrocketing soo recently. You might want to kind out about mind altering chemicals drug companies are putting in our food like aspartame, and fluoride in our water etc. |
