People these days...they have the tendency classify pretty much any music that involves horns and a steady rhythm as "jazz". Pretty much anything with horns that isn't a straight out March song, Salsa or Concerto people just say "jazz". I would just call this "Herb Alpert music". But if I had to pick a "genre" I would go with Smooth Jazz or Jazz Fusion. The only true Jazz to me is Dixieland aka New Orleans Jazz...the original.

Herb Alpert is not Hispanic. He is Jewish/Hungarian/Russian. His ancestors were Jews from Hungary and Russia who came to America.
There was a rumour he was "Hispanic" because he called his band The Tijuana Brass, but that's not true. He is of Eastern European Jewish heritage.
