Yeah, Quarter horses are the best by far. You can do anything with them and they have amazing temperaments. I work with nine of them.

If you take a week to train your horse for barrels you are both ignorant and abusive. Nothing takes a week to teach.
Barrels takes years to train for properly, if you want a horse that isn't gate shy, turns correctly, and stays mentally fit you need to take a lot of time to train for barrels.

Im tellin you right now, it takes hard work for a person to build up muscles, trust me. Now i have done barrel racing, and trust me, its alot more work to do dressage then barrels. 1 week to learn barrels, Years to learn dressage. Ive seen horses become gate shy because all you do is run them, not much training is involved in barrels, but dressage is alot of training. Dont knock the discipline unless you try it!!!

your comments are doing western riders no favours. I would like to say that barrell/dressage is equal...sadly if you look at the high level dressage wins every time, somewhat more than the kick and pull technique.

wow antonio. your blatant ignorance strikes again. it takes a very, very long time to build a horse up to this level. it is incredibly hard to teach a horse to collect himself in order to perform a piaffe. im pretty sure that a western horse could NEVER do that
