Two hours is long to you. Why some films out there last as long as five and a half hours, take 1900 as an example.

burninbushmen : The messsage was meant to be scary- this was the 1920s, and the horse and cart days were just ending. Many were fightened of the emergence of the machine and scientific marvels. There was the fear ( just as today) of machines replacing someone at work, or the fear of one being subserviant to a machine, thus almost becoming one. Did you notice the mechanical movements of the workers? No such thing as ergonomics back then! The robot literally takes Maria's essence, if not her soul.

Had it not been for these classic films of today would not exist today as we see it.

don't believe everything you read on wikipedia. I know. I've seen the restored version. It's a lot better than the original. The one that wasn't restored. You can't even see Moloch come. They havn't found all the missings scenes yet either. They were found in Argentina. |
