I have noticed some people have been asking what it means to 'focus on yourself'. I think I might have an explanation that could serve useful. Usually people believe that meditation requires a certain methodology, or that there is always one best way to think about something and approach it. However, try the approach that answers the question, 'what effect does meditation have on you?' Observe yourself as passively as possible without wondering what will happen, and see what comes out it that.

Great Video on focusing.

Observe yourself at the level of experiencing your life, not at the level of thoughts. Do healthy natural things like gardening in order to make you feel good. Enlightenment means the happiness bought by healthy natural ways of living instead of by life circumstances alone.

Oh and your rougher breathing and the noise you make when you unpurse your lips or whatever actually helps the relaxation. Well yah that and tone of your voice I guess is the main thing

Your voice sounds like someone's Dad's voice I knew growing up when he was reading or praying in the evening. Peaceful. This video helps me stay calm. I use this video's technique when I'm under growing pressure now. The other video Love "it" and love your flaws. My mind wars against both of those ideas. I've known malicious people and I've known myself needing to change. Something about it is powerful too. Good things to know!

Sometimes I used to look at my self image on a mirror for a long period of time, and then suddenly I just lost awareness of time or space, someting really weird, I didn't know who I was. Has anybody experienced that??

No need for a mirror. Simply place your attention on your self. |
