They've built them in Scotland, Japan (coastal I think), the Netherlands.. so that covers wet.
They've also done them in Nicaragua (more mountain), Jamaica, other Caribbean locations, Hawaii, and the Bay of Bengal (as Tsunami assistance).. so there's hot humid and coastal.

I think Earthships use passive solar design (tilt the windows/overhang to let light in during the winter and shadow in the summer)
The tires are a good insulator, which probably keeps a lot of the humidity out.
I don't know details, however, so don't take my word for it.

That's not the future. The future would be, whatever houses the other 5.4 billion people, who don't so much money that they don't have anything else to do than build houses out of beercans and ride motorcycles in the desert. |
