As a man, I am attracted to women with a more than passive sense of humor. The rest of it is verbose, but lacking any factual basis - it makes logical sense, but he has yet to offer proof - only assertions delivered with an air of insufferable arrogance.
On other matters, he often brings up good points, albeit in the most circumlocutious route possible. It's clear by his language though that in this case he's speaking only from his personal prejudices.

I'm female btw. I don't think it's as complicated as they make it, just some people simply don't think the humor matches the way others look and sound.

like how females seem to get off more on teasing guys than the other way around.

Women get off with their sex appeal more often and so cracking a joke might come off as them trying. Women actually are funny. But there are some jokes that work with one person better than another---sometimes because of historical stuff. Like certain people who can't make certain racist jokes without you wincing that they might get killed in any second

Hmm, good thought there

Tina Fey and Sarah Silverman? None of the women in piece are remotely funny. Tina Fey can wright but her comedic acting has always been bland and campy. Sarah Silverman is just agonizing to watch.
He's right about these women, they're only considered because people find them "sexy".
But I think women are very funny. Roseanne Bar, Marsha Warfield, Kelly Collfield Park, Sandra Burnhardt, Kim Wayans, and Paula Poundstone are all hillarious; they're just not considered "hot".

I agree with everything he says except that "Most men are fantastically unattractive." I think just the opposite. Maybe because I'm not looking for the same physical qualities on a man as men look for in women. For me it's all about the light in the eyes and the smile.

It's not his views that wind me up, it's the air of smugness that accompany them.

Hitchens is great, except where he hasn't figured out politics. Calls himself a libertarian, but supported Gore. Duhhr. Still, funny and right on... |
