This is an old popular Music Hall song from England that Herman's Hermit's did. Music Halls were sort of a sing along vaudeville type entertainment that was and maybe still is popular in UK going well back before the 1960s. I think anotther HH song, "Henry the 8th I Am" is another music hall song ....
