Personally i think George Washington was the best president becuz he gained America her freedom. Abe Lincoln did do a great job with helping the slaves getting freedom but Washington pretty much made America. Abraham Lincoln is by a close second tho

Jefferson Davis sure as hell wasn't paving the way for slavery to end....
Neither were any of the other southern governments. The reason? Most of them were rich slaveholders, or were in the pockets of rich slaveholders.
The legilsatures wanted to secede in order to protect their own individual interests, and then duped the poor lower classes into fighting what was really a rich man's war.
Much like what happened in Iraq.....
