Its an exerpt from the film 'Joy Division' the poem has nothing to do with the song its just the poet was from the same town - Salford, the documentary focused on the poverty and yalent at that time - don't spout off if you know nothing or I'll slag of your fav singer George Michael.

I remember buying 'Closer' when I was in my teens, probably just after Ian's death. I don't think I totally got it then...However, with the advantage of 20 plus years of perspective, the music blows me away!!! I hear everyone from U2 to Echo, the Cure, right up to all those EMO/goth bands. The Sex Pistols are always mentioned as THE band of that era; don't believe the hype. Joy Division influence lives on today!!! Ian Curtis belongs in the realm of mystique with Hendrix, Morrison & Joplin.
