love the song, but omg his nails r so long. i get that it helps to pluck the guitar strings, but they look so dirty. it kinda distracted me the whole time he played

I assume you're talking about the actual techniques? JB kinda got this going from years busking in open tunings. For two hand tapping methods, I suggest checking out Trace Bundy. As for the other techniques, the ever notorious Candyrat artists are always a good place for inspiration. This style is still relatively new (i.e. few books or instructional videos, if that's what you're into), so the only thing I can suggest is a lot of staring and puzzling out what the hell they're doing.
