the point of gangs were because back in the old days the italians, irish, mexican etc immagrants and african americans were being harrassed so they decided to form a gang so no one will fuck with them, blacks formed as black panthers but then they were divided as bloods and crips, mexicans and chicanos formed as cholos on the streets and on prison the mexican mafia but they divided themselves too as nuresta famila and all kinds of gangs
